Kate Hey—of Dare to be Dyslexic Tuition has 30 years of experience in the education sector has created Dare to be Dyslexic – Literacy Tuition because her passion is working with students who see the world from a different perspective.
She has the advantage of being a dyslexic learner herself, the mother of an amazing Dyslexic son with Auditory Processing difficulties (neurodiverse learner) and a wonderful daughter; she understands the challenges that parenting, working, studying, and life, in general, can present!
Kate also understands that for academic learning to take place, a holistic approach needs to be provided, supporting children with positive self-talk, self-esteem and realistic strategies that can be used at home and school – and into adulthood!
This seminar will provide tips and tricks for helping families with children who are – or are not diagnosed with Dyslexia, ADHD, ADD, Auditory Processing, ASD, Anxiety and more – any child who sees the world differently and who needs a little support - and for the family to know they’re the best teachers to guide them.

Magical Blue Clay Workshop
Working with clay is good for the Soul
Sunday 9 February | 1.30 pm - 4 pm | $ 95 per person
Join Cate Pates to create stunning clay tiles using her unique hand drawn templates, which will then be fired and glazed after the class using a brilliant turquoise blue glaze.
Working with clay is good for the soul! Immersing in a gentle creative activity helps to switch off a busy mind, and making tiles is fun and achievable even if this is your first time using clay. As well as the template designs you can imprint with leaves and fabrics and add text using letter printing blocks.
All materials are provided so all you need to do is turn up ready to have some fun and creativity. Herbal teas provided.

Nicky is a a member of the Buteyko Institute of Breathing Health. She runs the Breathing Clinic in Nelson and is one of only a handful of full-time Buteyko specialists in Aotearoa. She has considerable experience running her own clinic, offering assessments using capnography and teaching groups and individuals, in-clinic and online, throughout NZ and internationally.

Join Cate to create stunning clay tiles using my unique hand drawn templates, which will then be fired and glazed after the class using a brilliant turquoise blue glaze.
Working with clay is good for the soul! Immersing in a gentle creative activity helps to switch off a busy mind, and making tiles is fun and achievable even if this is your first time using clay. As well as the template designs you can imprint with leaves and fabrics and add text using letter printing blocks.
