Working with clay is good for the Soul

Afternoon event | 1.30 pm - 4.00 pm | $ 100 per person

Join Cate from Fig Tree Studio to create a stunning and unique colourful clay candle holder using white clay, coloured slips and her hand drawn templates.  You can add decoration with impressed flower, heart and leaf sprigs, fabrics, text and more. These can be hung on the wall or displayed on a shelf and look striking by themselves or bring a magical warmth by adding a candle.

Around 5 weeks after the class these will be fired and glazed using a clear glaze to bring out the brilliance of the colours, creating a gorgeous art piece to display in your home or gift to another.

Working with clay is good for the soul! Immersing in a gentle creative activity helps to switch off a busy mind, and making these is fun and achievable even if this is your first time using clay.

All materials are provided so all you need to do is turn up ready to have some fun and creativity.

$100 per person, includes all materials, glaze and double kiln firing.

Completed pieces are ready to collect from Normandale, Lower Hutt or at a subsequent class in Pautahanui. For those unable to collect, she offers the convenience of postal delivery for an additional fee.
