Simple Change, Big Impact

Buteyko Breathing Method and Ortho-Bionomy®

"While the Buteyko Breathing Method teaches natural breathing management, Ortho-Bionomy® helps to integrate your new breathing skills."

Be prepared to have what you thought you knew about breathing turned upside down. E.g., did you know the more you breathe the less oxygen you get? Were you aware that deep breathing is a western health disaster? Delve deeper into these seemingly outrageous statements and learn how Nicky was able to use her breathing knowledge to overcome a lifelong phobia of public speaking and 13 years of epileptic seizures.

This fascinating presentation is of relevance to anyone who breathes, and particularly to those with breathing related conditions - asthma, hay fever, snoring, sleep apnoea, nasal congestion, chronic cough, anxiety, migraine, hypertension and impaired sporting or speaking performance.

Nicky is a a member of the Buteyko Institute of Breathing Health. She runs the Breathing Clinic in Nelson and is one of only a handful of full-time Buteyko specialists in Aotearoa. She has considerable experience running her own clinic, offering assessments using capnography and teaching groups and individuals, in-clinic and online, throughout NZ and internationally.

"Combining Buteyko breathing and Ortho-Bionomy® aligns the physical structure, fascia, and nervous system (vagus nerve) for optimal benefits."

German-trained nurse Julia switched gears in 2014 (NZ) to Ortho-Bionomy®, a gentle, noninvasive body work which stimulates self-corrective processes within our body. Registered since 2018 (OBNZ & SOBI) Julia is, the sole provider south of Christchurch.

Ortho-Bionomy® offers an effective, long-lasting approach to a wide range of conditions, utilizing a gentle yet powerful form of bodywork therapy. Particularly helpful for addressing both acute and chronic pain. Ortho-Bionomy® works with the whole body to promote healing.

As a somatic bodywork therapy, its techniques create opportunities for a change to occur, facilitating balance and promoting shifts and alignment within the musculoskeletal and organ systems.

It also addresses the nervous system, fluids, hormones, craniosacral issues, scars and fascia.

Due to its gentle nature, Ortho-Bionomy® is suitable for a wide range of problems and conditions. It supports your body's natural healing processes, promoting optimal functioning and balance.
