Janine McKenzie-Minifie

MAXIMUM HEALTH AND WELLNESS COACH

My life has been devoted to wellness. My mother owned an independent bookstore in Christchurch, New Zealand. From a young age, I read deeply into natural wellness, looking for solutions to my own chronic pain.
At the age of one, I snapped my tibia in half over a wooden frame edging. Learning to walk and then run in a full-leg straight cast laid down faulty movement patterns life. The resulting asymmetry caused chronic pain, plus stress and insomnia due to pain. By age seven, I was managing severe childhood PTSD.
At 20, I spent many months in Southeast Asia and India. To my relief I found some change in bodywork, fasting, a clean diet, Breathwork, Yoga and Meditation.

As a result, I returned to New Zealand to study natural therapies at the Canterbury College of Natural Health and Homeopathy and 3 years later, I emerged with Diplomas in Bodywork, Chemistry of Aromatherapy and I was a certificated Neuromuscular Therapist.
I was lucky to have mentors, who were leaders in their fields of Neuro Muscular Therapy (NMT),Chinese Traditional Medicine, Energy Medicine, and Coaching. With their help my childhood issues were resolved one by one, I felt like I was getting younger. What I learned here would help me improve the lives of thousands of clients. As my posture, breathing, movement and mindset improved, so did my life. I could finally run and exercise without pain.

My techniques obviously work for the majority of my clients as well, as they refer friends, family and colleagues. My goal is always to get clients better fast and out the door. I’ve tested the tools and techniques I use and have seen the benefits of working to use breath as a tool, to move functionally in life and how to be your own best coach.
These are life skills that help at any life stage. No matter how insurmountable a problem or situation may seem to you, I’ve probably had it, or worked with it and helped find a solution.
